Michael Spencer - 2031/32 Co-Head Coach
Bio
Michael Spencer, a native of Hyattsville, Maryland, began his lacrosse career in middle school playing for Prince George’s Lacrosse Club. He attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School where he was a founding member of the school’s lacrosse team. Michael attended college at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland. While at Franklin he played soccer and studied International Relations. After Franklin, Michael began his lacrosse coaching career with Alexandria Lacrosse Club. He went on to coach at the high school level at West Potomac High School where he also coached football and wrestling. After four years at West Potomac, Michael moved to Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA. At Episcopal, Michael coached football, lacrosse, soccer, and wrestling. During his tenure at Episcopal, he won two conference titles in football and a state championship in lacrosse. Michael has also coached club lacrosse for Top Caliber, MadLax, and Virginia Lacrosse Club. After eight years at Episcopal, Michael moved to Garrison Forest School where he serves as varsity assistant. Michael serves as a summer camp Director for Game Breakers Lacrosse and Revolution Soccer. Outside of actual coaching, Michael is Level 3 certified in men’s and women’s lacrosse. He is also a trainer in the Coaching Development Program for USA Lacrosse as well as a Sankofa clinician. A trained educator in Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement, Michael believes the mind is an essential part of all athletic development. Michael also owns KOTAPR Lacrosse which provides coaching, consulting, and lacrosse equipment services. Michael feels fortunate and is proud to have coached many athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional level. He looks forward to bringing his love for lacrosse to M&D.
