M&D Lax

Elevating Your Game

To facilitate and elevate players’ abilities to the next level, M&D provides instruction and coaching by our staff of knowledgeable and proven coaches. This is a major differentiator of M&D from many other lacrosse clubs. Our elite coaching staff works with our teams in enhancing fundamental skills as well as developing team offensive and defensive concepts. We have regularly scheduled practices throughout the year.

Spring – Middle school teams practice 2-3 times a week from March through May.

Summer – All M&D teams practice 2-3 times a week.

Fall – To promote multi-sport athletes, we practice only one day a week.

Goalie Instruction

M&D understands the uniqueness of the goalie position and the specialized coaching that goalies need in order to enhance their game. To meet the specialized needs of our goalkeepers, M&D provides specialized instructions for our goalies with free training sessions in the summer months. Our goalie coach Arvak Marshall works with all of our goalies on basic fundamentals and high-level training.

PLAYER COMMITMENT

It is expected that any player who tries out for M&D (2022/23 Season) that makes a team will be playing for M&D during the Fall of 2022 and Summer of 2023. It is a full one-year commitment. The Classes of 2027 – 2032 will also be playing in the Spring of 2023 in the NGLL . M&D does promote multi-sport athletes. Our stance is that lacrosse games and practices that occur in the Spring and Summer should take priority over all other sports. In the Fall and Winter, any lacrosse games of practices should take a secondary priority to Fall or Winter Sports. Players will not be penalized for missing practices of games in the Fall or Winter.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM POLICY

For the classes of 2027 – 2032, M&D will be playing in the Spring of 2023 for the 3 rd Season. M&D will be participating in the National Girls Lacrosse League, playing 8 games in the season. There will also be playoffs and a Championship for each age group. 2027 – 2029 teams who win their brackets will be competing in the NGLL National Championship on Memorial Day Weekend in Cary, NC. The NGLL Championships are run in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Final Four.
